Discovering LP was a turning point. It gave us a detailed, research-based framework for understanding pre-literacy development and identifying specific skill gaps. The level of professional learning we’ve gained has been incredible, it has transformed the way we assess, plan, and deliver early literacy support.

LP has absolutely strengthened our understanding of just how complex the acquisition of language and literacy is and the importance of following the correct steps in learning.

Since introducing LP (almost 10 years ago!), it has had a hugely positive impact on staff knowledge, understanding and CPD. We have regular refreshers, watch LP training videos and up-skill new staff to ensure consistency and impact.

Our attainment data in Nursery is very good this year compared to the previous year.

LP has helped to close the gaps in the foundation years that we had previously seen. This is because the steps are so structured that the planning and activities are more progressive.

Within weeks of using the LP, we’ve seen rapid progress from all of the children. LP has completely transformed our understanding and teaching of pre phonics skills across EYFS.

More children are making progress from their low starting points .
