Children in nursery have made good progress using LP & enter Reception with a greater readiness to learn, stronger communication skills, and a more secure grasp of pre-literacy foundations. This has resulted in a notable increase in the number of children achieving a (GLD) & improved outcomes in the Yr 1 PSC.

Our attainment in prime areas has increased this year.

We use the assessment to inform holistic assessments in SEND.

It has helped to plug the gaps in the foundation years that we had previously seen. This is because the steps are so structured that the planning and activities are more progressive.

All of the children who access the Launchpad programme make accelerated progress in relation to their phonics learning. Children are targeted, using their unique starting points and then sessions and provision is tailored.

We have found that our Nursery children are already beginning to blend and they have retained more sounds than in the past.

LP has been used to describe progression from starting points and to identify areas that are challenging for individuals. It has particularly helped our children who are working below ARE, including EAL children.

LP has supported us in the identification of need and accurate referrals to SALT. Quality First-Teach within the classroom, knowing we are delivering LP skills to the whole class.

I use LP consultatively with education and childcare staff to jointly identify a child’s level of success and to support staff to help children move on to the next step. I’ve noticed that Launchpad promotes autonomy and creativity in practitioners as to how to target the next step.

Children leaving Nursery are more “flashcard ready” for Reception due to our strong, consistent teaching using the LP framework. As children are more “flashcard ready” when entering Reception, we can hit the ground running with synthetic phonics.

We use LP alongside our SALT worker from Metis Therapy. We use it to support children’s individual next steps and inform our personalised learning.

LP helps us to identify the gaps early so that we can close the gaps and develop stronger foundations for all children.

We have more children achieving a good level of development this year due to the targeted work.

We use Launchpad to identify why the children are struggling in a specific area. It provides staff with small step goals to close their gaps.

LP has been very helpful to show us the low starting points of our children at two so we can plan the curriculum to meet the needs as the cohorts each year come in with lower starting points.

Launchpad has helped us to identify gaps and plan for these which has enabled the children to make more progress.
