We use the assessment information and then take the Launchpad embedded interventions & ideas into provision and also use it during group time for children who need additional support. Almost all low attaining children have all made at least expected progress and we’ve especially seen good progress for our SEND children. We are only beginning to scratch the surface with Launchpad and hope to utilise it further next year.

GLD – We have seen an  8% improvement on GLD this year compared to last year and children have made more progress as a result of our targeted interventions approach. CPD – We have used it to train staff to identify children’s skill gaps within the classroom. We use Launchpad to add targets to children’s pupil passports. It provides staff with incremental steps to support target setting, and these have definitely supported staff in the early identification of need process.

Strategic Direction – Launchpad  is linked with our SDP for next academic year. SEND – We have used LP for our SEND children (as part of their Pupil Passport). We are planning to continue using it to support children with SEND and lowest 20%. Curriculum Redesign – We have used Launchpad to ‘redesign’ our Nursery and Reception Curriculum. We chose to do this because the majority of our children enter school below or well-below expected levels of development. Practice – We use Launchpad to support early writing outcomes in reception, the whole cohort has benefitted from the impact of Launchpad. We use Launchpad as a basis for our Nursery Phonics programme and also to support communication and language skills for our EY children and children not on track in Year 1. Focussing on the small steps. It has helped our Nursery children become more adept at segmenting and blending and developed the auditory memory of many children in EY and supported some with their expressive language. When I was introduced to ‘Launchpad for Literacy’, it was via Eve Morton who works for North Tyneside Council. After working with our school, she recommended it as a Toolkit/an approach to support children in developing their Early Literacy skills.
