Launchpad has really helped to support small steps intervention for send groups from nursery to year one in particular. It has helped staff plan focussed activities to support those children most in need.

From an EYFS point of view: Launchpad has had a positive impact on pupil outcomes, particularly strengthening progress in speech and phonics through targeted interventions and high-quality teaching. The implementation of Launchpad has guided support staff with small and specific progress steps for a child with EAL. Launchpad has enhanced teaching and assessment. Since introducing Launchpad, smart targets have been set and achieved for SEND children by incorporating statements in their personalised SSP.

We have focused on using Launchpad to improve the children’s fine motor skills and writing, we have used the suggested fine motor activities and have noticed a big improvement in the children’s writing skills across both nursery and reception. Reception have achieved 71% GLD for writing.

As part of the Together Learning Trust, Netherton Infant & Nursery School has benefited significantly from engagement with Launchpad for Literacy. Early Years Foundation Stage (GLD) – Our 2026 EYFS outcomes demonstrate strong attainment, with 73.3% of children achieving a Good Level of Development (GLD), exceeding both the national average of 72.3% and the Kirklees local authority average of 70.4%. Launchpad for Literacy has had a positive impact on our phonics outcomes this year, particularly in the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check. Launchpad for Literacy has had a very positive impact on our school by helping new staff develop greater confidence, consistency, and expertise in the teaching of early language, reading, and writing. GLD -We have used Launchpad over the last 3 years. It has supported a rise in our children’s achievement in GLD to 90% this academic year. 2024-2025 cohort had significant amount of children needing speech and language intervention. Over the course of this academic year, we successfully implemented Launchpad for Literacy as a targeted small-group intervention to address developmental gaps within the lowest 20% cohort across Nursery and Reception. We are still fairly new to using Launchpad as we only bought in earlier this year. One area where Launchpad has had an impact, was for a group of target pupils who were not on track for GLD for Reading and writing. We used the Launchpad Toolkit to deliver some interventions/ add activities into continuous provision following the phonological awareness column and then we targeted these children during play. Launchpad for Literacy is slowly weaving it’s way through our school and is being used more by staff throughout school and is supporting all staff to assess children’s skills, particularly SEND children and children who are not accessing formal phonics curriculum.
